Our Approach
We offer a variety of complementary yoga practices designed to support one another.
Class sizes are intentionally small, allowing teachers to respond to what is present and students to be met as individuals. Our curriculum provides clear foundations for beginners and a steady path of progression over time. We value relationships that deepen, and practice that develops through continuity and care.
A Note for Beginners
If you are new to yoga, we recommend beginning with a Level 1 class.
These classes move at a thoughtful pace and introduce the foundational postures and principles that inform all of our other offerings. Beginning here will give you the confidence and understanding needed to step into other classes with ease.
If you are working with an injury, pain, or limitation that requires more personalized support, we encourage you to reach out to us before attending. We are happy to guide you toward the class that will best support you.
Level 1
Level 1 classes introduce the foundational standing, seated, and restorative postures that form the basis of an alignment-centered yoga practice.
These classes move deliberately and emphasize how to enter, inhabit, and exit each pose with clarity and stability. You will learn how to use props skillfully, how to organize your body in space, and how to develop awareness that carries into every other class at the studio.
This class is ideal for students new to yoga and for experienced students who wish to strengthen their foundation. Students are encouraged to remain at this level until they feel steady and confident in the essential postures.
Level 2
Level 2 is for students who feel comfortable in the foundational postures and are ready to refine and deepen their practice.
These classes continue to build on standing poses while introducing a broader range of seated postures, twists, forward extensions, back extensions, and inversions. The emphasis shifts toward greater subtlety, precision, and internal awareness.
All Levels
All levels classes are designed for students with at least six months of prior yoga experience.
These classes weave together foundational and intermediate postures in thoughtful sequences that allow students to work at their own capacity. Teachers offer variations and prop support so that each student can practice appropriately for their body.
Classical Vinyasa
Classical Vinyasa is a steady, challenging flow practice inspired by the structure of the Ashtanga Primary Series.
Students move continuously through a set progression of postures, building strength, stamina, and concentration. This class is best suited for students with at least six months of yoga experience who feel comfortable modifying poses and working within their own limitations.
Expect a rhythmic, focused practice that generates heat and demands attention.
Seasonal Vinyasa
Seasonal Vinyasa is a gentle, flowing class designed to support the body through the changing seasons.
Sequences shift four times per year and draw from Ayurvedic principles to emphasize postures that balance and nourish the system at that time of year. Classes may include simple pranayama and moments of pause within the flow.
This class is appropriate for students of all experience levels and offers a more gentle and energetically conservative approach to vinyasa.
Teacher’s Class
Teacher’s Class is for yoga teachers (or students ready to think like yoga teachers) who wish to learn how to see bodies and understand poses more deeply.
Led by a senior teacher with over a decade of teacher training experience, this class explores how different bodies approach the same posture and how thoughtful sequencing and observation can transform a practice.
Students will leave with practical insights that enrich both personal practice and teaching.
Restorative
Restorative classes invite deep rest and nervous system regulation through fully supported postures held for longer periods of time.
Using generous props and careful setup, the body is encouraged to release effort and settle into quiet awareness. While gentle, this practice is not without depth. Students often find that restorative work requires a different kind of attention and patience.
This class is recommended for all students as a complement to more active practices and as a way to reset the body and mind.
Open Studio
Open Studio offers dedicated time for self-directed practice without formal instruction and is available to monthly members only. During these hours, the studio is open for quiet individual work, allowing students to explore their own practice at a pace and depth that feels appropriate.
Open Studio is offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00–9:00am. There is no set start or end time; members are welcome to arrive and depart as needed within that window.
A teacher is on-site during Open Studio to answer questions or offer brief guidance when needed, but they are often practicing alongside students. This time is intended to support independence, continuity, and integration, and is an important complement to guided classes. Open Studio is not a social hour or an informal class; we ask that the space be treated with care and respect so all who enter can settle and practice without distraction.
Accessibility & Care
Care is central to how teaching happens here. Our classes are taught by experienced teachers who know how to work with injuries, physical limitations, and a wide range of bodies and movement histories.
Instruction emphasizes clarity, pacing, and adaptability rather than one-size-fits-all approaches. Teachers offer thoughtful modifications and alternatives, and students are encouraged to work within their own capacities on any given day. We value discernment over pushing, and see responsiveness as a skill that develops through practice and relationship.
Students are always welcome to share injuries, health concerns, or movement considerations with their teacher before class. While we do not provide medical advice, we are committed to teaching in ways that support safety, longevity, and respect for individual needs.
